Jim Mck's garden

An enormous cephalataxus overwhelms you at the front door (ajar for covid reasons.)

Last place Jim sat in his garden

May pops (fruit of passiflora above)  Vine has taken over magnolia.
There are 3 nice magnolia stellata out front on his hell strip between  street and sidewalk .

Climbing hydrangea and tree I can't id.

Looking at back of house

Collapsing arbor.

Nice view into Rock Creek Park at the back edge of property

His sister said Jim had a big oak taken down but for some reason decided to keep the wood!!  It's now pretty decomposed.

There's a pond in front of the cinder blocks, frozen over in this image.

Brotzman order from last year.  I can see labels for  Cornus officianalis Kintoki and Hamamelis 'Sandra'

Jim's brother-in-law helping to load Jim D's car with plants from house.

Below is  a post from Jim's blog about his pergola, which he said only gravity was holding together.  There's a pic in earlier days.  Apparently roses grew on it.
